Mr. Rabinovitch received his professional training from the University of Pennsylvania; where he holds a master’s degree in a unique program that combined urban planning courses at the School of Planning with real estate finance coursework at the Wharton Real Estate Program. This education formed the intellectual and technical basis for an enduring pursuit of sustainability, new urbanism and community oriented development. Following his personal goal of linking the disciplines of planning, real estate and environmental restoration, Mr. Rabinovitch joined the world’s leading conservation non profit – The Nature Conservancy – as Executive Director of the Long Island Chapter. Mr. Rabinovitch oversaw the protection of thousands of acres, was responsible for the creation of over $800 million in publicly financed conservation programs, and initiated one of the country’s largest shellfish restoration projects. Mr. Rabinovitch is currently the President of Terracycle Investments and the Vice President of Canus Corporation. Canus Corporation is a real estate development firm specializing in mixed-use and residential projects that promote community revitalization. Projects have included workforce housing, community revitalization, commercial and retail development, senior housing, and historic preservation. Terracycle Investments is a real estate re-development firm specializing in brownfields redevelopment and sustainable buildings as well as a consulting firm specializing in environmental restoration programs. Mr. Rabinovitch is the recipient of numerous awards and distinctions: In 2002 he was named one of the “40 under 40 Best and Brightest of Long Island” by the Long Island Business Journal; in 2008 he was named a “Top Young Developer” by NJ Real Estate Magazine. He is a Founder of the North Shore Land Alliance, and a Board member for the Presby Memorial Iris Gardens and Vision Long Island, a leading smart growth advocacy and planning organization. Mr. Rabinovitch is also currently a member of the Planning Board for the Town of Montclair, NJ. Mr. Rabinovitch lives in Montclair, NJ with his wife and two children.
Susan Rabinovitch resides in downtown Philadelphia and Sag Harbor, NY. She is active in her community and has served on numerous Mayoral appointed commissions. |
